HVAC companies in Central Kentucky
Most of the difference between two HVAC quotes is not the equipment. It is the loop around it — the sizing, the ducts, the lines, the commissioning — and whether anyone measured before they priced.
What separates a complete quote from a cheap one
- Load calculation — done on your house, or copied from the old unit? Oversizing is this climate’s costliest habit.
- Ductwork — assessed and sealed, or inherited as found? Around here the ducts live in the crawl space, and so do their leaks.
- Line set — replaced, or reused with the old system’s oil and debris in it?
- Commissioning — charge and airflow set by measurement with the numbers in writing, or « it’s blowing cold »?
- Warranty — the manufacturer covers the box; the shop covers the installation. The second is worth more.
The work
Why systems struggle in this region
Ohio Valley humidity gives every air conditioner a second job. Winters ask heat pumps to work below freezing and furnaces to wake from a summer of idleness on the first cold night. The ducts underneath run through vented crawl spaces, and whole subdivisions carry same-year builder equipment aging in unison. Most of what gets reported here is predictable.
